Title I Compact: 2015-2016 English version

Parent/Guardian Agreement:

I want my child to do his/her best, so I will . . .

· help my child to attend school and be on time.

· provide a quiet, well lit place to study.

· communicate and work with the teachers and the school staff to support my child.

· read with my child and let my child read to me.

· come to parent workshops, help with school projects, and attend conferences to help my child.

· help my child to practice math and reading skills.

· have books, newspapers, and magazines available and/or take my child to use the library.

· check to make sure my child completes homework assignments and gets help when needed.

· talk to my child about what he/she is learning in school.

Student Agreement:

It is important that I work to the best of my ability, so I will . . .

· attend school regularly and be on time.

· complete and turn in class and homework assignments.

· read for at least 20 minutes everyday.

· practice math, and reading skills I learn in school, so I will remember them.

· work towards our school’s vision and General Learner Outcomes (GLO’s).

· look at what good things other people and I are doing, and encourage them and myself.

· pay attention in class and be able to tell others what I learned.

· speak and answer in complete sentences.

Teacher Agreement:

It is important that students achieve academic success, so I will . . .

· use the scientific best practices for reading instruction.

· read to students for at least 10 minutes a day during class time.

· support the schoolwide effort to implement the Common Core State Standards and the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards III (HCPS III).

· commit to our school’s vision, the General Learner Outcomes (GLO’s), and Positive Behavioral Support System.

· faithfully implement the school’s reading and math programs.

· observe the 90 minute protected reading time.

Principal Agreement:

I support the Likelike School Vision and parent involvement, so I will . . .

· provide an environment that allows for positive communication between parents, teachers, students, and administrators.

· encourage teachers to regularly provide homework assignments that reinforce classroom instruction.

· provide opportunities for all stakeholders to better understand the Common Core State Standards and the HCPS III.

· commit to our school’s vision, the General Learner Outcomes (GLO’s), and Positive Behavioral Support System.

· ensure that the school’s reading and math programs are implemented in accordance with the “best practices”.
