O Lady most Gracious, we gather today

At the school that is known by thy name.

We are of many nations, Korea, fair Cathay,

And from other realms distant we came.

But whatever our homeland, whatever

our blood,

As here in thy honor we stand.

We are all of one and of one

brotherhood

Thy Hawaii our own native land.

And today in thy memory, a necklet we weave,

That our aloha may blossom in flowers,

From the fairest of blooms whose sweet

fragrance we breathe

In thy loved home of rainbows and showers.

And we choose not the rose, though its

beauty we praise.

Now the violet hid in the shade.

But of jasmine fragrant on this day of days,

Shall the lei for our Princess be made.
